Getting to Galway


Galway is easily accessible from Shannon Airport and Dublin Airport.
From Shannon Airport a regular bus service is provided by Bus Éireann with a travel time of about 1 hour and 50 minutes.
From Dublin Airport, buses leave every 30 minutes and are operated by CityLink and GoBus, with a travel time of about 2 hours and 30 minutes. We recommend booking in advance as this will save money and guarantee a seat.
The buses for Galway from Dublin airport are leaving from Zone 13 of the bus area
When booking with GoBus, please use the promo code ‘LDK2017’ for a €2 discount per person.
Once you have selected your departure dates and times, you will be prompted to enter the code.
When booking with CityLink, please book online as a student and just enter ‘LDK2017 NUIG’ in the surname box after your actual surname. That can avail of the student discount online even if you’re not a student.

By Rail

Galway is connected to both Dublin City and Limerick by a regular train service. Travel time from Dublin City Heuston stations is about 2 hours and 30 minutes. For more details see Iarnród Éireann.

Parking on Campus

Please note there restrictions on campus Monday to Friday, weekends have no restrictions. There is limited parking on campus for guests to the University, Monday to Friday from 08.30 to 17.30. Permits have been arranged to facilitate access to the Park & Ride Car Park. Registered participants may contact info@ldk2017.org to get a copy of the permit.

Take immediate left to enter P&R Car Park. Please ensure to park in white line spaces only. Payment is required if you park in blue lined spaces. A copy of your permit (attached) which must be displayed at all times. There are also a number of pay and display parking areas on campus (blue lined spaces). All illegally parked vehicles, including cars not displaying a permit will be clamped.


Corrib Village
A number of rooms have been held in Corrib Village. Located on campus, a 15-minute riverwalk from the University’s main conference/event venues, Corrib Village is a complex of apartments and bungalows grouped around pleasantly landscaped courtyards in a riverside, village setting, making it an ideal and practical option for conference delegates and event attendees. Facilities include a 24-hour reception, 24-hour security, free parking,  shop/deli/café, a self-service laundrette and a tennis court.
